Bio

Dr. Pierre W. Banks serves as the Associate Dean of Admissions and Student Affairs at the University of Northern Colorado College of Osteopathic Medicine. In this role, he provides strategic leadership and oversight for the admissions process and student affairs programming, including financial aid, career advising, student support, ÌðÐÄÊÓƵapp COM student organizations, and residency match preparation.

With over 12 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Banks has held key leadership roles in both undergraduate and medical education. He previously served as Assistant Dean of Admissions and Recruitment and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch John Sealy School of Medicine. His academic work focused on health equity, implicit bias, and multiculturalism within core medical school curricula. Dr. Banks has also held roles in student success and advising at the University of Houston-Downtown, Galveston College, and JSSOM.

A first-generation college graduate, Dr. Banks holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Central Michigan University, a Master of Education degree from Grand Valley State University, and a Doctor of Education degree in Leadership Studies from Bowling Green State University. He was honored with the 2024 Transformational Leadership Award by the Texas Health Education Service and is deeply committed to expanding access to care and advancing equity through osteopathic medical education.
